For their first date they went to the Columbia Theater. They continued to see each other, and began to fall in love.
After about a year and a half of dating and several proposals over lunch at the Westinghouse, they became engaged. |
On December 29, 1941 Robert and Rosemary got married at Sacred Heart Church in Sharon, at nine o'clock in the morning. Father James Murphy presided. Rosemary wore a blue dress with matching jacket, hat, and shoes. Robert wore a suit. They had a large wedding (for those days) with about 40 people in attendance. Pat Blackburn was the maid of honor and Gene Rodgers was the best man. Rosemary's brother, Gene Sheridan, walked her down the aisle. 1 Ephesians 5:20-31 was read at the ceremony.
After the joyous day, the happy couple went on a two-day honeymoon to Akron and Columbus. |
